My two young cats were accidently shut in a bedroom all day and soiled the bedding AND pillow top queen mattress in several areas. (More customer reviews)I have two ways of getting pet stain out of carpet and this is one of them. It even works on that awful yellow bile stain when your pet gets sick. In the past, I was never able to totally remove a stain like that. One day I found it on my bedroom carpet. I sprayed it with Nil-Odor and walked away to let it work. When I came back, I couldn't find where it had been! I had not even blotted the area; it was just gone. I never let myself run out of this stuff and it has a wonderful minty smell to it. In fact, I add it to the water in my carpet cleaner and the whole house smells fresh.

(More customer reviews)I have been using XO for the last 7 or 8 years. I first had to use it on a leather couch that my cats decided to use as a litterbox. Worked perfectly to remove the stench (with some soap and water as well - hosed the cushions down outside), after I had tried a bunch of other useless pet stain/smell removers. Useful to remove dog urine as well. Has a pleasant, not overpowering or 'chemical' smell. Does not smell like typical pet stain removers. I use it as a room freshener and in the trash bin to remove odors. Smells better than Febreze.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this product at a chain pet food company, not expecting any better results than I'd gotten from other products of this type. Our carpet is olefin, and not supposed to stain. This spray not only smells great and removes odor, but it removed two year old stains from vomit after a pet's battle with cancer. It even worked through the multitude of solutions I had tried on the same places in the carpet, even after Stanley Steemer tried twice. The loss of the pet was horrific and the stains were a constant reminder. I cannot say how it would work on nylon carpet, but I do highly recommend trying it.

The directions say to saturate the area which is very true. I just recently had cat spray the back of our lazy boy which was very devastating since the furniture was new. After two jugs (128 oz) you can't smell the urine at all and it did not discolor the chair. I wish this had been around 15 years ago!

This is the only cleaner I've found that can handle cat diarrhea on the carpet (bad kitty!). It handles the odor pretty well too, though sometimes a second application helps.

(More customer reviews)It's important to thoroughly soak the area in order to remove the odor to avoid a repeat performance and occasionally you may have to repeat the process, but when the area is completely dry, the odor will definitely be gone. This product also works extremely well on stains -- all stains. I've been able to remove old set in stains on carpet and clothes and always take a small amount with me in a tiny travel bottle to remove any stains from clothes from food or drink spills. I've also found that by adding it to my washing machine along with detergent, my laundry comes out virtually stain free.

I went through my first bottle very quickly and not all that impressed. I was trying to eliminate our dog's urine odor, but it took awhile to work, but the stain was gone right away. The odor slowly went away, too. I had to re-apply to remove the odor. I'm low on my second bottle now, and considering to order a dozen.

(unless it's like vomit or something then you should wipe up what's there) - this stuff has eased our stress over the smell - the smell disappeared... i'm ordering a case tho' just in case i need more down the road. i used a lot of the can for a whole room on 4/23 and haven't smelled any reoccurrence of the smell from our cats. thanks for reading - hope you decide to purchase!

(More customer reviews)As a mother with 3 young children, 1 dog, and 9 wool rugs.....I consider myself a bit of a rug stain cleaning expert. I purchased this to see if it would take out the freshly created fluorescent orange (Juicy Juice) stain from our oriental rug. It did not remove the stain. I then tested it just days later on an fresh ink stain and it removed about 1/2 of the ink. A bright pink stain (again, probably Juicy Juice) that was from years ago did not come out (I had to give it a TRY!!). The one stain that it performed nicely on was a yellowed area from my dog....it had been cleaned but was still stained. The yellowing is now gone! Bottom line, there are some stains that this will not work on, even though the package says it works for ink, juice, etc. etc.

(More customer reviews)I have a big tote full of bottles of odor remover products - this stuff blows away EVERYTHING we've ever tried for removing cat urine odors.
If you've ever dealt with cat pee - you know how difficult it is to remove that smell...difficult and/ or impossible. This stuff is just amazing... one application has worked in every situation from fresh to aged odors.
The resultant smell is a bit chemical (which is better than cat pee any day). If you're working with carpet or fabric, you can try rubbing a bar of soap (we use safeguard) over the area after it is dry.
One other note - this is a serious chemical with lots of warnings - read the label and keep kids and pets away from the area until it is completely dry. (Tip: for the pets, try putting aluminum foil loosely over the area)

I do not own a pet, but have a 9yr old who recently developed a bed wetting habit and who often falls asleep on the sofa...which of course does not have removable cushions or covers that can be washed. I had tried everything..including small shampooers..but nothing was really able to get that tell-tell odor of urine out of the cushions, and even used bleach based cleaners on the mattress, which also left a faint urine smell behind. However, this took care of everything...almost immediately! It has a very pleasant, light aroma, and a little goes a long way. I have treated both the sofa and her bed completely, and have used only about 1/5 of the bottle. Within a few hours the urine smell was gone..and now I can have company over again without the worry :)
