(More customer reviews)This is a good carpet cleaner. I can't fault the machine for the initial problems. When I first received this product, I immediately went to work, or tried to. The solution tank was faulty and all the solution leaked out, creating a mess on the floor. I then went online to [...] to order a new tank only to find that the tank I needed was "out of stock", with no indication whatever when I could expect it to be in stock. I had removed all the furniture from my den and it was sitting in the middle of my living room. My frustration level was very high at this point. I then looked for local dealers and found one less than 5 miles from my house. I called and the gentleman there was very helpful. He not only checked his inventory but actually went to locate the part visually before I went to pick it up. He also told me exactly what I needed to take with me in order to get the tank replaced for free. This was practically an all-day deal but I was able to get another tank. It didn't leak, the machine works well and isn't really all that hard to deal with. Yes, the tanks are smaller than the commercial machines and you have to refill and/or empty them a lot but, overall, it's a good residential machine and handy to have around. One hint: When you go to empty the recovery tank, remove the solution tank first. I found out the hard way. You have to lay the handle of the machine down on the floor, which tilts the solution tank and causes it to leak. Maybe this is a no-brainer for some but the instruction booklet failed to mention it and I just followed the directions. Duh!!!!

Hoover Brush Block Dual V WidePath / All Terrain 48437030 Review

(More customer reviews)I discovered the hard way that I needed to clean the carpet fibers out of my Hoover Steam Cleaner brush block. (After using my steam cleaner a few times, carpet fibers from my rug built up around the brushes, jammed them, and led to the plastic drive shaft on this brush block to break off. If you're looking at the picture of the product, that's the little green "finger" sticking up in on the lower portion of the picture.) The entire part is made of plastic, and while it feels a little flimsy, I don't think it would have broken if I had properly cleaned the brushes after each use.
After researching the part, I bought a replacement brush block on Amazon. Be sure to check on the Hoover web site to make sure you're ordering the right brush block for your steam cleaner ... there are at least two different blocks, and they aren't compatible. But once I received my replacement, it installed easily and works fine.
My only nit is that this simple brush block costs about ten percent of what it would cost to buy a new steam cleaner, which seems a bit pricey.
Bottom line ... keep your brush block clean. But if you're reading this review, I assume you've already learned that lesson the same way I did!

HAAN DUO Steam Sweeper & Floor Sanitizer HD-50 Review

(More customer reviews)I wanted a steam cleaner that vacuumed and steam mopped, independently or simultaneously...this machine does that, but...
1. Claims to not wet floors as much as other steam mops...not true...puts down a lot of moisture...floors remain wet after steaming. I have to go over with a towel to dry...and towel is dirty every time...so, the steam may disinfect as it claims, but it just does not clean up the dirt and debris...the cleaning pads are very thin and get soiled easily unlike the Shark steam pocket mop.
2. Claims to be easy to use...not true. The cord is forever coming off the handle. If left sitting on its provided "mat" for just a moment (while moving furniture out of the way, etc) it leaks out a lot of water. It leaks out a lot of water when first plugged in and waiting for unit to heat up too.
3. Claims to vacuum....actually, it bristles up debris, but does not do a great job of that...the debris gets caught up in the front where the brush is and since the debris is wet from the steam (if steaming at the same time while vacuuming) then it will drop wet debris back on to the floor especially if bumped.
4. Claims to not use as much water as other steam models...not true, I have to fill the reservoir 3xs more compared to the Shark Steam cleaner.
5. Handle is extremely long and not adjustable...difficult to use for steaming under beds.
6. Claims "hands-free" soiled pad removal...not really. While the steam plate can be removed by foot, you still have to use your hands to pull the pad off the steam plate.
I own a Shark Steam mop and it works great, but I didn't like their steam/vacuum mop as the vacuum and steam functions cannot be used simultaneously.
Definitely returning and will go back to vacuuming with a vacuum and steam mop with the Shark floor steam mop until a better machine is discovered/created.

Bissell 790 22-Ounce Pet Stain & Odor Remover Review

After my cat puked on the carpet I tried four different stain removers none of which worked. They actually made the stain worse.
This product made the stain disappear with ease. I have to say I'm impressed.
Doesn't work for grease,tar,ink etc. For that I highly recommend Rubbermaid Commercial Quality Carpet Spot and Stain Remover.
(I can't seem to find the Rubbermaid product on line but it is available at Menards and elsewhere.It comes in an 18 oz. aerosol can.)
Between these two I've yet to find a stain they won't remove.

You can pay more and get a more exact model I believe, but this is a great product for the money.

The hand tool does spray and suck, so at least I can still use it for small jobs and stairs. Overall I would not recommend this product to the numerous complaints about the spray malfunction.

(More customer reviews)I shopped online for weeks before deciding. I have been borrowing Bissell carpet cleaners for a while, this one seems to be the best so far. Assembly was easy. It was a little heaver then I expected. I like the water resivoir, they have improved the seals & latches. The stairs are labor intensive, as the water shoots out very concentrated & it takes a lot of work to get them dry. Maybe it just takes a while to get the hang of it. Overall, glad I bought it.

I then thought about a replacement handle,where will I find a product like this? Keyed in Hoover on my computer and it took me to Amazon and I was able to find the product used or new that was available.Bought a new handle and received it in the mail in a week or so.It worked great and was very inexpensive.

(More customer reviews)I recently bought a Proheat machine to clean my (I'm ashamed to say)filthy carpets. I liked the fact that it heats the water, has a powerful brush, and can apply Scotchagrd. When it arrived at my door I couldn't wait to get it out of the box and give it a try. I did take the time to read the manual based on advice from some other reviewers, but I was busy cleaning my carpet in no time. The water was so dirty- I had to save it to show my husband. Neither of us could believe how clean our carpets looked, almost brand new. I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but this cleaner is so amazing that I wanted to share my experience with everyone. Anyone with carpet in their home needs one of these. It's worth every penny.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this machine one year ago. I love how it cleans and it is easy to use. I have 2 dogs and a cat and it is great whhen the dog has an accident on my beige rugs. the only problem whhich I will address with Hoover is that after a few uses one of the latches on the recovery tank broke in half. My husband was able to repair that with Crazy glue. this forces me to be extra careful when closing that particular latch. This model I have has the clean water and detergent tank attached to one another. It states the detergent tank is NOT to be detached or removed form its postion. I used it this past week and the detergent solution holder fell off. Now I have "jimmy-rigged" the solution on onto the clean water tank with heavy tape. It works, but the problem is that a piece of plastic broke off the bottom and it has not sit correctly onto the machine to dispense the detergent in the way it is supposed to. Other than these two problems I love the machine. I know i could purchase a replacement tank but I feel the machine is too knew for this to happen

(More customer reviews)With a husband, a 2 year old boy, 3 cats and after dropping my quarterly carpet cleaning contract with a local company, it was time to buy a carpet cleaning machine. After doing several days of researching and shopping, I decided to buy the Hoover Agility from Wal*Mart for about $185. My husband told me that I wasted our money, well....he was wrong!!!! After thoroughly vacuuming my carpets, I cleaned out my bagless Hoover Wind Tunnel, and as usual, the bagless cannister was full of cat hair, dust, and dirt. I then proceeded to clean the carpets in my house. The water was disgustingly dirty, almost black!!! After allowing the carpets to dry, I vacuumed my carpets to remove any 'shading'. I was completely amazed!!! The only thing that my vacuum cleaner picked up was a small amount of loose carpet fibers!!! Yes, just carpet fibers!!!
Pros: Comes pre-assembled, extremely easy to operate and I did this without ready the manual, the water tanks are easy to remove, fills, and they snap very back into place with little effort.
Cons: The electrical cord in my opinion is not long enough.

(More customer reviews)I recently bought this to replace a Bissell Pro Heat 2X. I think my Bissel might have been a lemon, but I was unhappy ehough with it that I changed brands. I really like my new Royal. Very smooth, gets the carpet dryer than the Bissell did. I like the options for turning the soap and/or brushes off. My Royal's first job was a soapless clean to remove the chemical dumped in my living room by my Bissell. Talked to a vacuum sales rep after I bought it, he also says this is a fabulous machine, low failure rate. Fairly easy to clean- I do wish it had a place to keep the caps so I can let the tanks dry in the closet. I liked all the extra hand tools (one a rotating brush) on the Bissell, but overall this is a far better machine.

(More customer reviews)We just bought this machine and I can't say enough things about it. Our carpets are over 10 years old and it's made them look 100% better. Best of all it has a 6 year manufacturer's warranty so if there are any problems it can be taken to a nearby service center for repair. My husband has been using it the last two days and our carpets look great. I read many reviews and it seemed like the best one on the market. We buy a new machine about every 2 years as they break down frequently, but with a 6 year warranty you can't go wrong. I ordered the carpet cleaning solution through Amazon because it's cheaper than in the markets, free shipping and no tax. Great deal. Just be sure to clean the brushes and rinse everything throughly when you're done using it. We have 13 dogs and cats so having a good carpet cleaner is essential for us. We highly recommend that you read the operations manual prior to using the carpet cleaner in order to ensure all the settings are correct for proper operation. Buy it and you'll see the difference in how your carpets look and feel. The multiple brushes have fluffed and raised the carpet and it feels like new. One machine for 6 years will be a welcomed change!
