(More customer reviews)My cats have a carpet covered tower that they love. I was ready to get rid of the tower because their fur was embedded in the carpet. The tower was starting to look old and dingy and I tried everything I could find to clean it. Vacuuming and rolling with sticky tape rolls barely made a difference. I tried the FURemover last night and it took all the fur off the tower. I couldn't believe it but it looked brand new! It even took off the little pieces of carpet that the cats scratched out.
They didn't say it on the packaging anywhere, but it takes a little while for the static charge to build up and I found that it was easier to use circular motions to get the fur that was really embedded in the carpeting. It does create a mess of "fur bunnies" but it's easy to just vacuum them up afterwards.
I didn't find it particularly effective for grooming the cats. The Shed Ender is the best thing we've found for that.

You can buy lint rollers at the store and save yourself the headache of throwing away the bar by mistake when your roll is empty and you cannot use your refills unless you roll it by hand. The instructions stating not to throw out the inside of the roll that comes already on the unit must have been omitted in my order. So now I sit on refills that don't do much good without a roller. Nothing comes with the order to buy parts and pieces. Except for being very large rolls, the $1 ones at stores work the same. Sorry.......

(More customer reviews)This was touted as being good for picking up pet hair. I run a cat rescue organization and used it on hard surfaces with lots and lots of cat fur. It worked no better than the average broom I buy at the dollar store. It is also very heavy and the bristles are so stiff they won't get into corners or tight places very well. For the price, you can buy a dozen brooms at the dollar store over time and get better results.
